How You Can Kill Mold
There are many ways to kill mold in your home. The simplest
and cheapest mold killer is ordinary household bleach.
You want to make a solution in a spray bottle with 3
parts water, 1 part bleach.
Next,
spray it on to the surface and let it sit for about
15 minutes. To speed up the process, use a soft brush
to agitate the cleaning agents of the bleach. Finally,
rinse it down with water and let it dry.
There
are also other household products you can buy that say
they destroy mold and mildew, Lysol and Tilex for example.
The longer the mold has been around though, the harder
it is to eliminate. Another option would be cleaners
like the orange oxidizers as seen on tv.
A
method that has become popular lately are ozone generators.
These shoot blasts of concentrated ozone into infected
rooms, mold spores and odors.
To
Kill mold, it is sometimes possible to just use
soap and water to clean up small amounts of mold. If
the area contaminated is less than 10 square feet, this
can be the case. If the area is much larger than this,
it is probably better to let a professional handle the
job anyway.
There
are several other household mold killer remedies
such as vinegar, grapefruit oil etc, but none of these
are really proven effective ways to kill mold and/or
mold spores.
If
you are not sure how to go about treating your mold,
it is better to always let a professional handle the
situation. .
